Find out much more about my work experience on my LinkedIn profile. But for context: I've rustled data at the University of Florida, played guitar and booked shows for Six Days From Sunday, edited a blog at Xanga.com, managed all things online at the American Institute for Stuttering (AIS), and marketed Yelp.
Here are some samples of my work online.
I started blogging in 2007 with Are We Still Cool?, a humorous blog about whether my wife and I are still cool after becoming parents.
The AIS Blog
I wrote a blog post with the trailer for the film The King's Speech soon after it was made public. It garnered over 100 Likes on Facebook, a high number for the blog. Read The King's Speech: How a King of England Faced His Stuttering.
Soon after, I discovered a YouTube video of a speech by King George VI (of The King's Speech). I posted it, and the post received over 100 Likes on Facebook. Read The History Behind The King's Speech: Listen to King George VI Himself.
Are We Still Cool?
My brother sent me a link to an unusual cubicle workstation for children. I expanded upon it to write a humorous take on my son's career path. Read What Do You Want Your Kid to Be When He/She Grows Up? (I Want Cool Baby to Be a Knight, Sort Of).
I compared Target and Wal-Mart and quite unscientifically examined which was cooler. Read Target vs. Wal-Mart: I'm Just a Sucker for Cool.
The AIS Blog
In 2009, AIS honored actress Emily Blunt at its annual fundraising gala. She stopped by the office beforehand, and I asked her to film a short video. Watch Emily Blunt at AIS.
As part of their therapy, the clients go to Macy's to use their newly learned speech techniques in the real world. I wanted to capture the moments of courage, triumph, and fun. Watch Clients Go to Macy's.
Are We Still Cool?
I thought it would be funny to film a music video of my (then) 3-year-old son dancing to "Riot Rhythm" by Brooklyn-based rock band Sleigh Bells. Watch Cool Baby Rocks "Riot Rhythm".
We wanted to give readers a tour of the duplex apartment that our family shared with two roommates. This was right after the hilarious and slightly disturbing Trololo meme launched. Watch A Musical Tour of the Cool Duplex.

I wrote a satirical take on joining Twitter now that it's hugely popular. Read Three Ways to Join Twitter Without Looking Like a Latecomer.
Yelp
During a marketing internship at Yelp, I wrote weekly newsletters (circulation: 85,000+ subscribers) for the borough of Queens in New York City. Read one of the newsletters, We Yelp Allegiance to the Burger...

Asked to write on the premise of pilgrimage, I chose New York City as a pilgrimage destination of sorts and interviewed two friends who feel a special connection to the city. Read The Modern Urban Pilgrimage.
After completing my first screenplay, I compiled some practical tips that developed the rhythm for me to write it. Read Finally Start Writing Your Screenplay.
